A trusted, friendly orthodontist in Jersey City
Dr. Trulby graduated from Rutgers University (R! U!) followed by completing his dental and orthodontics training at Columbia University just across the river, where he was chief resident and received awards for graduating at the top of his class.
Ryan continues to be involved at Columbia as an Associate Orthodontics Faculty and secretary of the Columbia Orthodontics Alumni Society.
He has completed several advanced training courses in Invisalign and a variety of additional topics, always aiming to learn something new every day.
Dr. Trulby has a lovely partner, Gabriella, and is a devoted dog parent to his boxer, Niko, and spends his downtime running the occasional marathon or reading a new book. He also is a fluent Spanish speaker (almost) and a die-hard FC Barcelona fan… Visca Barça!
Jersey City braces
Braces in Jersey City are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Since they tend to be the fastest method of aligning teeth and closing gaps when compared to other treatments, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced.
Braces don’t require the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, meaning Jersey City braces are a cost-effective orthodontic option.
Traditional metal braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They’re made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are affixed to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics.
These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply gentle pressure over time, gradually moving your teeth into their desired positions as long as you have regular adjustments with our doctors.
Jersey City Invisalign
Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists in Jersey City and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, the Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. To keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you’ll need to switch your invisible trays out for the next one in the series every one or two weeks as directed by Dr. Trulby.
Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout the duration of treatment. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed! If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.
Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option.
